ABOUT US

Hi, I’m NADINE

I’m so excited to have you here.

I’m an island girl from sweet Trinidad & Tobago, now living in London, UK, with my partner of over 20 years. My heart has always been in food—cooking with Trinbagonian flavours and baking delightful desserts. In T&T, our love language is food: bubbling a pot and limin’—our way of coming together to relax and connect.

Growing up, I was surrounded by the incredible cooking of my mum and many aunts, so my passion for food was ingrained early. When I moved to London, I found myself longing for those homegrown flavours. What started as a way to satisfy that craving; blossomed into something extraordinary.

It began with traditional Trinbagonian pepper sauces and green seasonings—simple blends that brought the taste of home into our tiny kitchen in Croydon. One year, we even managed to grow a few hot peppers ourselves; we were so proud of those little pepper trees.

As we shared our spicy creations and the rich food culture of both islands with friends, our kitchen became a bridge between worlds. For some, each taste was a memory—a link to family, friends, and the warmth of shared meals... home. For others, it was an introduction to the bold, authentic flavours at the heart of our diverse culture. Every dish we served sparked curiosity and connection, and that growing enthusiasm deepened our passion for cooking and creating.

While baking had always been part of my life, the COVID pandemic unlocked a new obsession: macarons. I fell in love with the intricate art of these delicate treats, merging global techniques with the vibrant flavours of Trinidad & Tobago. They became my canvas—where Caribbean roots and international inspiration could meet in sweet, unexpected ways.

As I refined my baking skills, I began sharing more of my creations—from flaky parathas, pelaus and spicy Trini curries to dainty, island-inspired macarons and layered cakes. My love for food cultures, paired with a deep sense of pride in my Trinbagonian heritage, soon sparked a new idea: creating merchandise that celebrates both. With design help from my partner and collaborations with Trinbagonian creatives, TLPT reflects the spice, charm, and warmth of the islands in everything we do. That’s how The Little Pepper Tree (TLPT) came to life—a joyful blend of food, flavour, creativity, and culture.

My passion for cooking has grown into a deeper mission: to learn, honour, and preserve the recipes of our elders. These cherished traditions, once at risk of being forgotten, are now part of my purpose—to keep them alive for myself and future generations.

Join us on this journey where we savour, celebrate, and connect. We'll explore old traditions, discover new favourites, and find joy in the flavours of home and beyond.

Welcome to The Little Pepper Tree.
